Philippe Friedberger was born in 1938 in Boulogne-Billancourt. He trained at the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris, in the "mural painting" section, in the studio of the famous Marcel Gromaire. He first worked for the great cardboard painters such as Lurçat and Picart le Doux before making a dozen tapestries himself, which were woven in Aubusson. Today Friedberger devotes himself to painting.
