FIVE GALERIES TO DISCOVER AT PAD PARIS - LE MONDE

Historically specialising in tapestries from the 16th century to the 1960s, this gallery is taking up residence at the PAD to present its shift towards more recent creations. “We’ve chosen to concentrate on modern and contemporary tapestries, as well as exceptional rugs handmade by master weavers, which we publish under the Parsua brand”, explain the two sisters, Céline Letessier and Amélie-Margot Chevalier, heirs to a family business dating back to 1917. New for 2023 are works woven by French weaver Françoise Paressant, always joyfully colourful and geometric, like these ‘Fantaisies chromatiques’. Or, based on ink by the sculptor Philippe Hiquily (1925-2013), this tapestry, also just off the loom in Aubusson (Creuse), a nod to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games: ‘La Sprinteuse’.
