Maurice André creates cartoons for tapestry from 1943 including Œuvres Monumentales for the Council of Europe (1955) and, in 1964, for the Casino de Cannes. In 1949, he is a member of the Association of Painters-Cartoonists of Tapestries. Then in 1958, he received the Grand Prix International de Création for the French Pavilion at the Brussels exhibition. He realized numerous commissions, both private and institutional.
