Blending Africa and France
French-Senegalese of Iranian-Lebanese origin, interior architect and designer Sarah Chirazi is exhibiting some fifty of her creations for the first time in France at Galerie Chevalier & Parsua. It’s an opportunity to discover the richness of her imagination through her furniture, such as a table with bronze legs reminiscent of crocodile skin, a stool inspired by the shape of pulleys, a mirror in draped plaster or a set of dogon ladder-shaped chairs… The strength of these pieces lies in the dialogue between Senegalese culture and the French classicism to which the designer is so attached. This is an exhibition about a fantasised Africa, where her pieces of furniture converse with works of art from the Dakar School and tapestries from the Thiès manufacture.
