WEAVING THE WORLD, AGAIN AND ALWAYS

The year 2026 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the death of André Malraux (1901-1976), for whom art illuminated the destiny of humanity. It was in dialogue with Malraux that Léopold Sédar Senghor (1906-2001) spearheaded the creation of the Senegalese manufactures in Thiès, which are still active today.

EXHIBITION PARSUA X SARAH CHIRAZI

The Galerie Chevalier Parsua is delighted to present an exclusive capsule collection of four rugs designed by interior architect and designer Sarah Chirazi. Entitled Barry, Archie, Asper and Aragus, these creations are directly inspired by the plant world of her Veggies collection, which they convey with poetry, strength and personality.

EQUINOXE, A SUSPENDED MOMENT BY JACQUES BRACHET

Jacques Brachet is a French artist and weaver renowned for his innovative approach to contemporary tapestry. His creations are characterised by a harmonious fusion of tradition and modernity. Brachet uses traditional weaving techniques while incorporating abstract motifs and contemporary colours, giving his works a unique dimension.

A TEXTILE PROMENADE IN THE HEART OF SUMMER

Nomad in her approach, Françoise Paressant gives shape to the intangible by weaving light and texture. Her tapestries are like sensitive landscapes whose compositions play with shapes and colours. NEW TAPESTRY IN LIMITED EDITION

Jean Dewasne (1921-1999) was a French artist known for his role in the geometric abstraction movement. His painting is characterised by geometric shapes and bright colours, inspired by light and space. His works are often seen as a search for balance and structure, while retaining a certain lightness. Dewasne has taken part in numerous exhibitions and left a significant mark on the landscape of modern art in France.

OUR SENEGALESE TAPESTRIES ENTER THE MET!

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has acquired our collection of 18 tapestries from the Manufactures sénégalaises des Arts Décoratifs de Thiès, shown in our exhibition L’Étoffe des Modernes – Threads from Senegal, last November. This marks a historic milestone for these exceptional works and for the artists of the Dakar School. It provides international recognition of the aesthetic, cultural and political significance of this artistic production, which began in the wake of Senegal's independence.
