He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lyon and Paris and at the Académie Julian. In parallel to his work as a painter, he produced tapestry cartoons, frescoes and stained glass. He participated in the Venice Biennale in 1942.
His tapestries and paintings are part of the collections of several museums: Museums of Modern Art in Paris, Lyon, St Etienne, Sao Paulo, Caracas...). He joined the "Témoignage" group and became a member of the association of cartonnier painters.
